Happy New Year!
It’s a damp New Year’s Eve here in western Massachusetts.
We’re staying here tonight because tomorrow morning a pet taxi is picking me and our dog Loki up, to drive us to a hotel in downtown Brooklyn.
From Brooklyn, we’ll board a ship to cross the Atlantic, and then take another pet taxi through the UK, France, and Spain, and finally, to Portugal.
But, we almost didn’t make it to this point. It’s been wild.
As of yesterday at 5 a.m., I was pretty sure I was going to have to figure out an all-new plan to cross the Atlantic with Loki.
Loki’s paperwork that certifies him to get on the boat with me in Brooklyn, and cross the Atlantic had been delayed by several days.
The USDA’s approval of Loki’s animal health certificate left Gainesville, Florida on December 27th, and was supposed to arrive in Vermont on the 28th.
