Just 17 days until I get on a boat!
A lotta ins, a lotta outs, a lotta what-have-yous in our move to Portugal
Dear Reader,
Lately, my life reminds me of that quote from the Dude (Jeff Bridge’s character) in the movie Big Lebowski.
“This is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, a lotta outs, a lotta what-have-yous. And, uh, a lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head."
In one strand is the holidays. There are still gifts to be given, cards to be written, meals to be shared, and packages to be mailed.
Plus, there is the weather. A bomb cyclone of rain is supposed to start this afternoon on the east coast. Last time this happened, my brother-in-law tells me, he was out of power for five days.
“At least it’s not snow,” I thought, and “I’m so glad I finally bought some waterproof shoes!”
A larger strand is preparing to get on a boat with Loki, our labrador dog, who is riding in the kennel section of the Queen…
