The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly: Part I
My first time driving in Portugal and my first time driving an electric car ... just ... wow
Dear Reader,
I wish I could tell you that we traveled to the far north of Portugal and had a wonderful time and fell in love with everything we saw and did.
But I cannot.
All I can tell you is, “We barely survived.”
I made (and this is truly on me) a few KEY errors in travel planning for this trip.
Mistake #1: Renting an Electric Car
Actually, mistake #1 should probably be, “being cheap.”
When I was traveling to get here on the Queen Mary 2, I met an older woman who was so frustrated with her phone that she asked a younger stranger (me) to fix it, which I did.
She was so grateful that she invited me to stay with her anytime I wanted to at her villa on the Mediterranean in Nerja, Spain.
Then she introduced me to her second husband, and told me that her primary filter for men later in life was that, “they are not cheap.”
